NCB's very own Hoochie Coochie Man
Sundays 10am-12noon and 8-10pm
Nigel Day has been presenting Blues Brunch on NCB Radio since April 2015. He brings a mix of Blues and Rock to Sunday Mornings adding a few words here and there but basically keeping the music flowing in order to set you up for the pub or the rest of the day – hopefully both!
With a set of musical influences ranging from The Beatles to ZZ Top and all points in between if he likes it he’ll normally play it, there’s nothing too rigid in the format of the show. Presently attracting interest from bands as far afield as Los Angeles and Sydney together with Denmark and the Netherlands the Blues Brunch is promoting NCB Radio across the World’s airwaves.
Particular homage is of course paid to great guitar bands, the fantastic female blues artists around today and also to promoting the excellent selection of music from the UK Blues Scene to the listener. Like the rest of NCB he encourages new acts to get in touch with their material and give it some chance to get some airplay and if he can help get the acts noticed in any way then he will do his best.
A member of the UK Independent Blues Broadcasters Association he attends gigs when he can and likes to try to nab an interview from the artist if he can. You can catch Blues Brunch between 10-12 on Sundays and if you can’t get up at that time then it repeats again that same evening between 8-10pm.
